Stephanie Lee

Steph (she/her) is an emerging queer, feminist theatre-maker, director and stage manager working in Melbourne (Naarm) on Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung lands. Her practice is highly collaborative, prioritising the creation of rehearsal rooms that are respectful and allow for acceptable risk taking. Feminist, queer themes and contemporary texts are where Steph's primary artistic interest lies, pushing up against form and constantly experimenting with genre and style.

 

Her recent work includes: HOME ECONOMICS by Declan Greene at Theatre Works Explosives Factory for Midsumma 2024 (Director and co-producer), Green Room Award nominated A Zoom Group Project at The Butterfly Club 2022 and the MC Showroom 2023 (Co-writer and director - nominated for new writing), Vibe Check at The Butterfly Club (Director), Looking For Alibrandi at The Malthouse (Directing Intern), Wolf Play at Red Stitch (Directing Intern), Lele for Western Edge at The Bowery Theatre (Stage Manager), and A Nighttime Travesty by A DAYLIGHT CONNECTION at The Meat Market (Assistant Stage Manager).
